AI image generators were creating copyright controversies questioning whether they were infringing on artists’ copyright or had enough of a human touch to be worthy of being copyrighted themselves. ChatGPT was in everybody’s mouths and sometimes were some people’s mouths. Tech Companies and investors were throwing money at any proposal that mentioned AI to grab market share and avoid missing out on the brand-new technology. It didn’t matter that AI was expensive and difficult to convince people to pay for. What mattered was making it bigger and better to ride the wave, so they don’t miss out on the rise of smartphones or streaming.
